Scott usually travels to the client's location and conducts a sitting taking many reference photographs while discussing the goals of the portrait with the client. Developing the overall composition and seeing the relationship of the client or the location is important to the painting. However, Scott can easily accommodate client-supplied photographs to work with. After the sitting Scott returns to his studio to begin the painting. Scott works primarily in oil and watercolor.
Scott enjoys framing the final works himself or he can assist the client in selecting an appropriate custom frame from a wide selection of corner samples that he has. Of course, the client can choose to frame the painting themselves if they wish. Depending on the client's request, Scott can ship the completed piece or deliver it personally.
